About the Artist

Born in 2002, Sireen Martin spent most of her life in the Middle East before returning to England to complete her degree in Fine Art, graduating with a First in 2025. She has collaborated with performance companies such as Birmingham Opera Company and The British Youth Musical Theatre to create the conceptual worlds of productions including Voices of Ancient Youth and Are You Ready to Be Heard. She is currently Artist in Residence at The Grand Union, with exhibitions at venues including Junction Works, Haarlem Artspace and Eastside Projects. In 2024, she was shortlisted for the Birmingham Open Prize as well as the Graduate Exhibition Prize in 2025.

Sireen Martins’ practice explores the intersection between digital, physical and metaphysical space. Through painting, sculpture and speculative world-building, she creates abstract landscapes that merge organic forms, natural systems and man-made structures. Her work uses fiction as a way to question how humans understand themselves within wider ecological, technological and spiritual systems. Drawing on ideas of transformation, survival and future ecologies, her practice imagines worlds beyond human-centred perspectives where natural histories, digital environments and non-human forms of intelligence coexist.
